Deepak Pohia, a journalist, aged about 40 years, reportedly ended life by suicide at his Bharatpur residence yesterday.

Pohia had joined a language daily newspaper here about two decades back. He later served as staff correspondent in two newspapers published from Jalalabad and Sriganganagar. Preliminary reports indicated that he was upset due to some domestic dispute and ended life yesterday.

He was cremated last evening by members of his parental family. The information about a tragic end of the scribe sent shock waves among the fraternity besides members of educational, political, social and religious organisations.

Balluana AAP MLA Amandeep Singh Goldy Musafir expressed deep condolences on Pohia’s death and cancelled a function that was to be held today evening in connection with the Diwali festival.
