GGDSD COLLEGE FACILITATES RAJAT KAMAL NATIONAL AWARDEE OJASWWEE

The Post Graduate Department of Journalism and Mass Communication , GGDSD College in association with Public Relations Council of India, Chandigarh Chapter while celebrating World Communicators Day, felicitated Ojaswwee Sharma for being awarded the Rajat Kamal, National award for his documentary ‘Admitted’ which is about Dhananjay Chauhan, the first transgender student of Panjab University.

(MOREPIC1)Interacting with the students, Sharma stated, “One must have a lot of patience for movie making. ‘Admitted’ was a process of almost four years.” He further apprised students of the nuances of visual storytelling and the recent trends in the movie making industry.

Talking about Sharma’s achievements, Mr. Vivek Atray, former IAS and PRCI Chapter Chair said, “When we achieve something, we inspire others. We can't however rest on our laurels. We have to aspire higher.”

Students Awantika and Viren Dalal were chosen to be the President and Vice President of the Young Communicators Club of the College, a club formed in association with PRCI.

(MOREPIC2)(SUBHEAD)Students were also awarded prizes for participating in the photography competition on World Photography Day. The first prize was tied between Alisha Garg and Nikita Thakur. Paras Sachdeva and Madhav Mangi bagged the second and third prize respectively. Further, short films ‘Sab Badhiya Hai’, ‘Ghutan’ and ‘Mental health’ were awarded prizes for short films made on the occasion of World Mental Health Day.
