Face2News/Shimla:

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday announced that all pending medical reimbursement bills of pensioners in the state will be cleared within the next one month.

(MOREPIC1) (MOREPIC2) The Chief Minister made this announcement while addressing a delegation of the Himachal Pradesh Pensioners Joint Front. He said that the state government is fully committed to the welfare of its employees and pensioners.

“The employees are the backbone of the government, and it is our duty to address their grievances and demands in a timely and fair manner,” Sukhu said. He added that after retirement, employees should be able to fulfill their social responsibilities without any hindrance. Keeping this in mind, the government restored the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) soon after coming to power, which has benefitted nearly 1.36 lakh employees in the state.

The Chief Minister said that the government is continuously working towards resolving pensioners’ demands and ensuring timely payment of their dues. He also emphasized that along with generating resources, the government is maintaining strict financial discipline.

Sukhu blamed the previous BJP सरकार for financial mismanagement, saying it adversely affected the state’s economy and delayed the payments of employees’ and pensioners’ liabilities. “Despite financial challenges, the present government is positive and fully committed to clearing all dues of employees and pensioners,” he said.

Himachal Pradesh Pensioners Joint Front President Atma Ram Sharma expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister and placed several demands before him.
