Face2News/Chandigarh

The daily COVID-19 vaccination has been very low during last month for all the three COVID vaccines. THe status of COVID vaccination was as under: • COVISHIELD vaccine: 38• CORBEVAX vaccine: 00
• COVAXIN vaccine: 00

The doses in vaccine vial are to be consumed within 4 hours after opening the vial otherwise these are wasted. Since each of the vial contain 10 or 20 doses and the low turnout may result in wastage of the precious vaccine especially at the centers where very less number of beneficiaries are coming for vaccination. Further it is also causing delay at the Vaccination Centers in case of other persons waiting for vaccination.

To avoid wastage of the precious vaccines and also to avoid waiting period at the Vaccination Centers, it has been decided that from  October 4 onwards, the COVID Vaccination will be available at following three Government Hospitals, till further orders:-(SUBHEAD)

1. GMSH-16, Chandigarh- (from 9 am to 7 p.m.) 2. PGIMER, Chandigarh- (from 9 am to 2 p.m.) 3. GMCH-32, Chandigarh- (from 9 am to 2 p.m.)

However, if any of the organization (NGO, Social, Private, Religious and Political etc) wants to organize a camp at their premises, they may contact Dr. Manjit Singh, District Immunization Officer to facilitate special vaccination camps at their premises.
