In view of the anticipated heavy traffic movement during the Dushera Festival at Parade Ground Sector 17, Chandigarh the, the traffic police advises yo park vehicles in the following authorized parking lots:
Parking area of sector 22-A Market, Parking area of Sector 22-B Market, Parking of Football Ground, Sector 17, Rear side and front side of Neelam Cinema Sector, Parking area adjoining Local Bus Stand, Sector 17
Further, in order to de-congest this area at the time of dispersal of this function, traffic shall be diverted away from ISBT Sector 17 Chowk on Udyog Path by diverting traffic coming from 17/18 Light Point, Aroma Light Point, Sector 18/19/20/21 chowk and Cricket Stadium Chowk for one hour i.e. from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Further, at the time of dispersal of this function, only buses will be allowed to ply on this stretch. General public is requested to use alternate route during this restriction.

(SUBHEAD)Park vehicles in the following authorized parking lots: Sabzi Mandi Ground, Sector 34, Shyam Mall Parking, Sector 34, Library Building Parking, Sector 34, Complex Parking, Sector 34.
Further, in order to de-congest this area at the time of dispersal of this function, the road from Sector 34/35 Light Point towards Furniture Market turn, Sector 34 shall be closed for general public from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
DUSHERA GROUND, SECTOR 46, CHANDIGARH
Park their vehicles in the following authorized parking lots:-
Parking Market Sector 46, Open ground near Rehri Mkt Sector 46 and Parking adjoining Booth Mkt Sector 46D.
Further, in order to de-congest this area at the time of dispersal of this function, the road from Sector 45/46 Light Point towards Sector 46 shall be closed from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM for general public. General public is requested to use alternate route during this restriction.
TO ADOPT THE FOLLOWING MEASURES ON THE EVE OF DUSHERA:
1. Please try to walk to nearby markets, nearby destinations, etc. rather than using a motor vehicle.
2. Car pooling may be considered.
3. Use face mask and maintain social distancing.
4. Please ensure vehicles are efficiently parked in the designated parking lots not consuming more space than necessary.
5. People are advised not to park their vehicles in ‘No Parking’ Zones/Roads; otherwise, such vehicles shall be towed away/clamped.
6. People are advised not to park/ply their vehicles on cycle track/pedestrian pathway.
7. In case vehicle is towed away/clamped, please contact Traffic Helpline No. 1073.
8. Please remain patient in case of congestion and do not honk unnecessarily.
