Department of NSS in collaboration with the Boys Hostel No. 4 has organized a cultural event in commemoration of the NSS foundation day at Panjab University, Chandigarh.
(MOREPIC1) About 80 NSS volunteers participated in the event. Dr. Vivek Kumar, Chairperson, Centre for Medical Physics, PU and Programme Officer NSS has welcomed and motivated the volunteers.
Cultural programms of various states were performed. Every year, NSS day is observed on September 24th across India.
The National Service Scheme was launched in 1969, the Birth centenary year of Mahatma Gandhi in 37 Universities involving 40,000 students. It has now been extended to all the states and Universities of the country. Dr. Richa, Dr. Anuj Kumar, Dr. Naveen Kumar, Dr. A.N. Singh and Dr. Shankar Sehgal have participated in the programme.
