'BREAST & CERVICAL CANCER' AWARENESS SEMINAR HELD AT DEV SAMAJ COLLEGE

To spread awareness among the students about breast and cervical cancer, Dev Samaj College of Education, Sec 36 organised a seminar – ‘Breast and Cervical Cancer Awareness' at its premises here. More than 500 students from different Dev Samaj institutions attended the seminar with full zeal and enthusiasm.

The seminar began with the address of Chief Guest, Dr. Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal, Global Ambassador, World Cancer Care, who sensitized the students about the early signs of breast cancer and said that early detection can help evade the seriousness of the deadly disease.

Dr. Agnese Dhillon, Principal Dev Samaj College of Education, motivated the students to voluntarily participate in such informative sessions.(SUBHEAD) 

 

Highlighting the importance of a healthy diet and exercise, Dhaliwal advised students to inculcate these good habits in their lifestyle to prevent the risk of cancer and to live a healthy life.

During his address, he also raised various social issues related to girl child in India like female foeticide, dowry system, early child marriage etc. He further emphasized that these problems can be countered only with the help of Education and added that “Education is the biggest contributor for women empowerment in every society.”

Principal, Dev Samaj College of Education showed utmost gratitude to Dr. Kulwant Dhaliwal for meticulously and diligently conducting the talk, during the seminar.
