GGDSD COLLEGE CELEBRATES INDEPENDENCE DAY WITH ZEAL AND FERVOUR

The NCC cadets marched to the beat of drums and displayed an impeccable drill demonstration. Jai Hind slogans were heard and the national flag was observed kissing the air. This was the scene at Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College, Chandigarh, where the 75th Independence Day was observed. Everyone, whether teaching personnel, students or non-teaching staff was filled with patriotic zeal.

The celebration begins with the raising of the National flag by College’s Principal Dr. Ajay Sharma, followed by recitation of the National Anthem on 15th August 2022.

GGDSD College has been commemorating Har Ghar Tiranga from the 13th to the 15th of August, a lovely concept offered by the government to commemorate India's 75th year of independence. The tricolour signifies India's way of life and its progress.

Under the auspices of the 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, ‘Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College, Chandigarh, has also taken initiative by organising a marathon, hoisting the national flag, and posting selfies with flags on the website 'Har Ghar Tiranga.' Not only this, the College organised various online competitions a week before this day such as Poster Making, Short Film, Singing and Slogan Writing competitions, wherein students from different colleges participated and expressed their creative thoughts on the theme India@75.

Dr. Ajay Sharma, Principal, addressed the participants, faculty, and students during the event and praised the efforts of the organising team and those who participated. Dr. Sharma stated that all of the participants had tremendous zeal while commemorating Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. Dr. Sharma thanked both teaching and non-teaching employees for their solidarity and affection for the country. Dr. Sharma honoured the winners of various competitions organised by the college's organising team led by Capt. (Dr.) Virender Singh.(SUBHEAD)

Dr. Sharma encouraged students by emphasising that participation is more essential than winning. If you continue to participate in various events, you will eventually see the fruits of your labour. It makes no difference whether you win or lose; what counts is that you have the courage to participate. One must be prepared to meet any and all problems and obstacles that may arise. Participation boosts confidence and allows you to get to know oneself better.

It allows you to push your boundaries and broaden your skill set. He also mentioned that in order to build a name for oneself, one must have a positive attitude. At the end of the event, the winners were given cash prizes and refreshments were distributed to the staff and students. A group photo was taken with the Principal and Staff as well as the winners and organising team.

The celebration of Independence Day honours the sacrifices and unwavering efforts of our brave leaders and freedom warriors who devoted their entire lives for the cause of the nation and countrymen. GGDSD College salutes the fighters and aims to empower our students so that they can represent the country and the tricolour proudly.
