Keeping in view Up-Coming Independence Day-2022, following the direction of Senior Officer, teams of Operations Cell Sector-26 Chandigarh is on High Alert. A team under the supervision of DSP Sh. Jasbir Singh, DANIPS, DSP/OPS and under close supervision of Sh. Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/OPS, succeeded in arresting one Nigerian person namely Benjamin S/o Ajah R/O # WZ-93, Plot No. 399, Guru Nanak Enclave, Gali No. 1/B, Tilak Nagar, Delhi. Age 25 years, Permanent Address. Edaeni, Street 32 Enugu, Nigeria under NDPS Act and 274 grams of Heroin has been recovered from his possession. The value of he heroin was worth over one crores in international market.
On dated 11-08-2022, In connection with Upcoming Independence Day -2022, SI Ramesh Kumar 1641/CHG along with officials of Operations Cell, Sector-26, Chandigarh laid a naka on the road between Ram-Dardarwar to Railway under bridge, near Street light Pole Number 05.(SUBHEAD)
Further, during Checking one Nigerian person namely Benjamin S/O Ajah R/O # WZ-93, Plot No. 399, Guru Nanak Enclave, Gali No. 1/B, Tilak Nagar, Delhi. Age 25 years, Permanent Address. Edaeni, Street 32 Enugu, Nigeria was arrested by Police Party and from his possession 274 grams Heroin was recovered without any license or permit.
In this regard case FIR No.126 dated 11-08-2022 U/S 21 NDPS Act was got registered against him in Police Station Sector- 31 Chandigarh. During investigation he revealed that he came’s at India on Business VISA in December 2020. Further investigation of the case is in progress to ascertain the source of recovered drugs. He was produced before in the court of Sh.Randeep Kumar JMIC ( duty) UT Chandigarh and his Police remand was obtained till Dated 16.08.2022.
