Shri D.R. Negi, IDAS, Principal Controlller of Defence Accounts (Western Command) Chandigarh superannuated on Friday after putting 34 years in Defence Accounts Deptt. He was born in village Pooh, Distt. Kinnaur, one of the toughest area in Himachal Pradesh.
He did his matriculation from his village school i.e. Govt High School Pooh only.
After passing his pre-university class from Govt. Degree college Sanjauli Shimla, he moved to Govt Degree college Solan to complete his graduation (BA-Hons in Eco) in 1983.
He couldn’t complete his Masters in Eco from PU Chd, as he was selected in bank as PO in State Bank of Patiala as well as in State Bank of India. After spending couple of years in bank, he cleared the UPSC exam and joined Defence Accounts Deptt. as Asstt. Controller in 1988.(SUBHEAD)
He is the first IDAS officer from tribal area of Himachal Pradesh, who rose to the rank of PCDA so far and held many important charges like Financial Advisor to AOC-in-C of Central Air Command Allahabad as well as Financial Advisor to GOC-in-C of Western Command, Chandimandir, besides PCDA (Northern Command). Currently, he was holding the charge of PCDA (WC) since Sep 2019. He also underwent few imp courses in Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok as well as in Royal Institute of Public Administration, London.
While superannuating, he thanked his family members, friends, relatives and the entire deptt for the love, affection and support extended to make his career happy & successful.
