Police achieved major success when the team of Police Station-26, Chandigarh cracked a sensational case of Burglary under the directions of Ms. Palak Goel, D.A.N.I.P.S, S.D.P.O, East Sub-Division Chandigarh lead by Inspector Maninder Singh, Station House Officer, Police Station Sector-26, Chandigarh and arrested accused Jaswinder Singh Brar. Upon, his arrest case has been worked out which was regisered vide • FIR No 94 dated 24.7.2022 U/s 457,380-IPC
This case has been registered on the complaint of Dr. Mrinalini C Kumar R/o # 902 Sector-7-C, Chandigarh. She reported that she is serving as Medical officer at G.M.S.H Sector-16, Chandigarh.
On 19.7.2022 at 2:00 PM, She along with her husband Ms. Moneesh Kumar, IAS left their house for Hyderabad. On 24.7.2022 at 2.00 PM when she had returned back to her house, she found that the main locks of her house were broken. When she thoroughly checked the articles she found that someone had stolen gold and diamond ornaments i.e Kitty sets of diamonds, Gold chains, Gold and diamond rings, Diamond bangles, Gold bangles, watches, Silver coins and Gold coins.(SUBHEAD)
Accused Jaswinder Singh Brar arrested near Bapu Dham Light Point Sector-26,Chandigarh while he was going in a Verna car grey colour No-HR-26-BX-7533.
On preliminary interrogation of accused Jaswinder Singh Brar, confessed that he has also stolen gold jewellery from House No-696 Sector-7/B, Chandigarh. In this regard, other FIR No. 81 dated-28.6.2022 U/S 380,457 IPC was found registered in the Police station-26, Chandigarh. Accused further confessed that he has also stolen watches, ornaments from Panchkula and will assist the Police during recovery of said jewellery.

MODUS OPERANDI: During interrogation accused disclosed that he is habitual consuming drugs and to fulfill his daily needs he was roaming in the area and earmarked the houses where the newspapers are lying near gate and in the Night hours he committed the crime.
• Accused has also disclosed that he is involved in more than 13 cases of burglaries registered at Faridabad, Karnal, Jind, Rohtak, Kaithal, Gurgaon etc (Haryana) and recently he has been lodged at District Jail,Hissar(HR) and was released on 13.5.2022.
