By Wednesday afternoon, the bid had reached ₹88 lakh, but in the final hour before the 5 PM deadline, the bidding witnessed a dramatic surge. It finally closed at ₹1.17 crore, surpassing all previous national records.

The Transport Department conducts the auction through a structured online process and Rs. ₹4,500 Registration Fee: for pariticipating in bid.

Fancy numbers like ‘8888’, ‘0001’, and ‘9999’ are seen as symbols of prestige, luck, and status. Their popularity is especially high among vehicle enthusiasts, business owners, and prominent personalities in Haryana, Punjab, and Delhi-NCR. This growing trend has resulted in aggressive bidding during online auctions.
