CBI FILES CHARGESHEET AGAINST NINE ACCUSED IN GANGRAPE AND MURDER OF MINOR GIRL

The Central Bureau of Investigation has filed a chargesheet in the Court of Special Judge (POCSO COURT), Ranaghat, Nadia (West Bengal) against 09 accused in a case related to alleged gangrape and murder of minor girl in District Nadia (West Bengal).

CBI had registered a case on 13.04.2022 against 04 accused and unknown others in compliance to the orders dated 12.04.2022 of Hon’ble High Court at Calcutta in WPA(P) No.157 of 2022 and WPA(P) No.154 of 2022 and took over the investigation of the case earlier registered at Hanskhali Police Station vide FIR No-327/2022 relating to alleged gangrape and murder of a minor girl.

Investigation revealed that the minor victim was allegedly gangraped by three accused after intoxicating her. It was further alleged that the family of the minor victim was threatened by three other accused in conspiracy with the prime accused, preventing the family of the minor victim to take her to the hospital. The minor victim died on the following morning.

It was also alleged that the accused immediately took the dead body of victim and cremated the body without giving an opportunity for medical examination. Further investigation is continuing.
