Self-help book ‘Put Your Best Foot Forward’ authored by Col DS Cheema(Retd.) was unveiled here at a function organized by The Narrators, a performing arts society in association with Chandigarh Literary Society (CLS). The book was launched with an Art Lit Adaptation based on ‘Put Your Best Foot Forward’ and directed by Nisha Luthra of The Narrators.
Col Cheema, who has authored 16 books on various subjects, said that ‘Put Your Best Foot Forward’ covers etiquette, manners and fine graces of life. “It allows readers to have an insight into multiple details of life about which we do not think at all,” said Col Cheema.
The uniqueness about the launch was that Nisha Luthra directed an Art Lit Adaptation -De-Side 'Which wolf are you feeding?' based on the book which depicted 'two wolves that a human being feeds within'. She also showcased how making good choices and deciding between good and bad is so imperative for a successful life.(SUBHEAD)
Luthra further said that the adaptation based on the book stirs the intrigue about the book and becomes a narrative on the book. She said that collaboration between art and literature has been the vision of The Narrators.
The distinguished dignitaries who unveiled the book on the sidelines of the Art-Lit showcase were former Army Chief General VP Malik, Dr Sumita Misra, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture, Haryana, Prof PK Khosla, founding Vice Chancellor of Shoolini University, Solan, Prof KN Pathak, former VC of Panjab University, and Vivek Atray, a former IAS officer and a motivational speaker.
Col Cheema, who retired as the Director, Professional Studies, DAV College, Chandigarh, wishes to take the self-help book to all potential students of universities and schools. He said that professional training of individuals must integrate functional skills for achieving core competency.
Col DS Cheema, a prolific writer, has published more than 530 articles in leading papers. He was also awarded with Punjab Rattan Award in 2008. He is one of the most sought-after management consultants, trainers, motivational speakers and educators.
