Rajasthan ex-Dy CM and former Pradesh Congress chief Sachin Pilot landed at Sriganganagar railway station to a warm welcome. His long-due visit gained significance in the backdrop of Vidhan Sabha elections to be held in Rajasthan next year. A Congress leader said that the visit has infused enthusiasm in Congress workers who were feeling a little disturbed due to recent visits of BJP chief JP Nadda and some senior AAP leaders.

Hundreds of Congressmen stormed Sriganganagar station carrying garlands and bouquets and threw all security arrangements to wind when the train reached at 7:45 am and Pilot came out of the B-1 coach. There was an atmosphere of stampede people taking selfie photos from mobile phones.(SUBHEAD)

A large number of policemen led by DSP (city) Arvind Baird, Circle Inspector Vishwajit Singh, Sadar police station in-charge Kuldeep Charan, GRP station in-charge Dharampal Singh and RPF struggled to discipline the crowd that had women in a large number also. Cops had to use force to help the Pilot reach the waiting car.

Some enthusiastic Congressmen raised slogans of Sachin Pilot Zindabad. Pilot could not even interact with the media. He got into the car in a chaotic and unruly atmosphere. District Congress chief Kuldeep Indora and Ashok Chandak, who has interest in mining business in Punjab were able to board his vehicle in a hurry.
