The Child Helpline in Sriganganagar received information today that a 10-year-old boy was found alone and crying near the Chitlangiya Dharamshala.

Supervisor Anish Kumar arrived at the scene and took the child under his protection and brought him to the Child Helpline office.

After counselling, the boy explained that his mother had left and father beat him after drinking alcohol and refused to even give him food. He had been suffering from excessive violence for the past two days, and he left home two days ago and was living nearby.

Further information about the child was provided to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Chairman Joginder Kaushik and the police control.

Information about the child was put on social media, requesting help in locating his family. Meanwhile, the child's grandmother went to the Purani Abadi police station to file a missing person report. She was told that the child was safe at the Child Helpline office.

The child's grandmother and aunt arrived at the office at 5 p.m. today, and after the necessary formalities, the child was handed over to his grandmother. The child's father works in Dhan Mandi and is a drug addict.

CWC member Dr. Ram Prakash Sharma, Child Helpline coordinator Trilok Verma, Headmaster of the Government School Rajendra Kumar Swami, and Case Supervisor Anish Kumar Ulaniya were present at the child's return.
