The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in collaboration with MEA and MHA has successfully coordinated return of wanted fugitive Jagdish Punetha on Friday from UAE.

The Red Notice subject Jagdish Punetha is wanted by Uttarakhand Police in FIR No. 239/2021 registered at Pithoragarh Police station on the allegation of cheating and criminal Conspiracy. The subject had fled to UAE. CBI coordinated with UAE authorities to locate the subject and apprehend him.

Earlier, CBI got the Red Notice published against Jagdish Punetha through INTERPOL on 06.05.2025 on the request of Uttarakhand Police. A team of the Uttarakhand Police visited the UAE to bring back the subject and arrived in India with the subject from UAE on 13.11.2025 at New Delhi.
