The Women’s Studies Centre and Ventel Cell of Gopichand Arya Mahila College, Abohar, in collaboration with the National EduTrust of India, organised a Zero Plastic Skill and Entrepreneurship Mela.

The event aimed to promote eco-friendly innovation and entrepreneurial skills among students. Emphasising the concept of “Zero Plastic,” the mela encouraged the use of sustainable materials and creative alternatives to plastic in all exhibits. Students enthusiastically participated, showcasing creativity through a variety of handmade items and homemade eatables, which were successfully sold during the event.

Charu Ahuja, Academic Advisor, Inayat Vij from the Inner Wheel Club and Suman Goyal paid special visits and praised the efforts of the organisers and participants for combining sustainability with enterprise.

The mela featured engaging attractions such as Best out of Waste, DIY Stalls, Zero to Hero, Selfie Booth, Décor Items, Creative Crafts, Games Corner, Donation Corner, and Mehndi Corner.

The event was coordinated by Amandeep Kaur, Dr. Neeraj Mehta, Paridhi Kataria, Jyoti Singhmar, Vanita Makkar, Priyanka, Rajni, and Navdeep.

Principal Dr. Rekha Sood Handa commended the organisers and participants for making the event a grand success and for inspiring students to embrace sustainable entrepreneurship and creativity. Special thanks were extended to Samarth Sharma, CEO, National EduTrust of India, for his valuable support and collaboration
