CBI ARRESTS PATWARI IN JAMMU FOR ACCEPTING BRIBE OF Rs. 20,000

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Patwari, Patwar Halqa Ranjan, Tehsil Bhalwal, District Jammu, Revenue Department, Govt. of J&K while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.20,000/- from the complainant.

CBI registered the case on 14.10.2025 based on a complaint alleging that the accused Patwari demanded a bribe of Rs.20,000/- from the complainant for issuance of Fard (Revenue Extract) in respect of land at Village Ranjan,Tahsil Khour. Distric Jammu which the complainant intend to purchase.

CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.20,000/- from the complainant 

Searches were conducted at the residential premises of the accused.Investigation is continuing .
