The Department of Fine Arts of Gopichand Arya Mahila College, Abohar, organized a Two-Day Workshop on Sculpture Art. The workshop was coordinated by Jyoti Singhmar, Assistant Professor, Department of Fine Arts, and conducted by Kavita, a talented alumna of the college and accomplished sculptor.

Over the two days, participants were introduced to the intricacies of Low Relief Sculpture, High Relief Sculpture, and Round Sculpture, each technique explained and demonstrated with live examples. The sessions not only enriched students’ understanding of the art form but also motivated them to experiment with various sculptural techniques. Special emphasis was laid on connecting traditional sculptural practices with contemporary artistic approaches, thereby encouraging students to think innovatively while respecting the roots of Indian art heritage.

The interactive format of the workshop allowed participants to engage directly with the resource person, ask questions, and practice hands-on sculpting under expert supervision.

Principal Dr. Rekha Sood Handa appreciated the efforts of the Jyoti Singhmar for organizing such an enriching workshop and encouraged students to take full advantage of these opportunities to explore their hidden talents. She also lauded Kavita’s contribution in sharing her expertise with the young learners.
