Raj Sadosh/Abohar.

As a part of Gandhi Jayanti celebrations, the Jakhar Trust organized the “Swachhta Ke Nayak Samman” programme here. MLA Sandeep Jakhar honored Abohar's sanitation and sewerage workers and water works employees.

Jakhar said that sanitation workers are playing a special role in keeping Abohar clean. He said that the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, gave us the message of maintaining cleanliness, which we should always follow. The services of the Municipal Corporation's sanitation workers are commendable. Sanitation workers are the true heroes of society, thanks to them, we live in a healthy society. Our team wholeheartedly salutes their hard work.

He appealed to the citizens to minimize the use of single-use plastic and contribute to improving the sanitation system.

On this occasion, Jakhar Trust trustees Jaiveer Jakhar and Vijay Kataria said that the sanitation workers were presented with warm sweatshirts to protect them from the cold in the coming winter. They thanked all for attending the event and stated that the Trust's work for the welfare of society would continue. Several councillors were also present on the occasion.
