Dr. Rekha Sood Handa, Principal of Gopichand Arya Mahila College and a prolific writer, was honored today on her birthday in the presence of teaching and non-teaching staff, for her achievements in the field of literature and education. Suryakant Rinwa, President, Sahitya Sadan, presented her with a memento. Lekhak Parishad chief Raj Sadosh presented a certificate of appreciation.
(MOREPIC1) Sahitya Sadan incharge Dr. Sandeep Watts said that Dr. Rekha Sood Handa translated Swami Keshwanand’s biography from English to Hindi. He said that Dr. Rekha has made invaluable contributions to the field of education, enrichment and success of the NSS, NCC, Women Study Center, Extra Curricular Activities besides ensuring GAMC’s academic achievements.
Raj Sadosh said that the poetry books by Dr. Rekha Sood Handa beautifully reflect her heartfelt emotions. The exhibitions she organized as Head of the History Department at DAV College in the past provided thousands with the opportunity to witness ancient Indian civilization and culture, including Punjab’s rich heritage.
The college staff and Vice Principal Dr. Shakuntala Middha added to the grandeur of the event with their heartfelt poetry and songs.
