(MOREPIC1) 25 Punjab Battalion NCC, Abohar, hosted an impactful certificate session on Cyber First Responders during the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC-62) at NCC Academy Malout, which was attended by 523 cadets and staff members. The session was conducted by a distinguished panel from the United Service Institution of India (USI), led by Brig Vivek Verma (Retd), Senior Research Fellow, USI, Col Vivek Nautiyal (Retd), Senior Research Fellow, USI and Tushar Sharma, Co-Founder of TOFEE (The Organization for Enlightenment & Education), in collaboration with the Cyber Peace Foundation.
The session, inaugurated with opening remarks by Brig Vivek Verma, provided an engaging and interactive platform to educate cadets on cybersecurity. Tushar Sharma, a subject matter expert, captivated the audience with relatable examples and simple illustrations, covering key topics such as the types of cybercrimes, precautions against clicking unknown links, avoiding financial frauds, creating strong passwords, and maintaining constant cybersecurity awareness. A lively question-and-answer segment allowed cadets to clarify doubts and deepen their understanding.
Col Nautiyal summarized the session, reinforcing the critical aspects discussed and emphasizing their importance in today’s digital age. Cybersecurity is a live threat which permeates across borders and the cyber-safe environment contributes to National Security. Col Rajeev Sirohi, Commanding Officer of 25 Punjab Battalion NCC, Abohar, expressed gratitude to the USI team for their efforts in raising cyber awareness as well as certification of cadets and staff.
