YOUTH CLUB DANGAR KHERA KEEPS ON SERVING FLOOD AFFECTED PEOPLE

The Youth Club of Dangar Khera village is actively engaged in relief work for the past two weeks. The club has been distributing both food rations for families and fodder for animals in some of the worst-affected areas. With the support of local villagers, members of the Club have managed to supply 501 ration kits door-to-door in villages including Gatti Number 1, Mahatam Nagar, Muhar Jamsher, Burj Mahima, Ram Singh Bhaini, and Sabuana which was a victim of drain erosion. Each kit contains essentials such as flour, rice, lentils, sugar, tea, and other kitchen staples.

Relief teams from the club, consisting of 10 to 15 volunteers each day, have been traveling to the submerged villages, sometimes crossing the Kawanwala Pattan bridge over the Sutlej River and using boats to reach stranded families. Alongside the food supplies, the club has also been delivering green fodder, straw, and feed for livestock, recognizing that animals are equally critical to the livelihoods of farming communities in the region.

The members of the Youth Club said, “We take pride in the fact that our villagers and the youth of the club are stepping forward in this crisis. Every day, volunteers are reaching out to flood-hit families, ensuring that no one is left without essentials. Today, many active members of the club joined the mission and went door-to-door by boat to distribute supplies.”
