National Agri-Food and Bio-manufacturing Institute (BRIC-NABI) today hosted the BioE³ Conclave, marking a key milestone in advancing the Government of India’s BioE³ Policy—Biotechnology for Economy, Environment, and Employment. The event formed part of the BioE³ Pakhwada, celebrating one year of this transformative national initiative. Designed to empower youth, enhance farmers’ income, generate employment, and strengthen India’s bio-economy, the BioE³ Policy is aligned with national missions such as Make in India and Viksit Bharat.

(MOREPIC1) The inaugural ceremony was graced by Dr. Rajesh S. Gokhale, Secretary, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, and Shri Priyank Bharti, IAS, Secretary, Department of Science, Technology & Environment, Government of Punjab.

Dr. Gokhale initiated the BioE³ dialogue, sharing his vision of its long-term national impact and assured strong Centre–State collaboration for policy implementation. Shri Bharti launched the BioE³ Punjab Video, reaffirming the State Government’s commitment to driving the policy in Punjab and emphasized Centre–State coordination to advance the BioE³ mission. Prof. Ashwani Pareek, Executive Director, BRIC-NABI, presented an implementation roadmap for BioE³ through BRIC-NABI and announced that Punjab Biotechnology Incubator (PBTI) will soon host the first BioE³ call for the state.

The conclave brought together dignitaries from DBT-supported CNRIC institutions, industry leaders, start-ups, and media, highlighting the triple-helix model of government, industry, and academia as essential to the success of the BioE³ initiative.

The event also featured visits to BRIC-NABI’s cutting-edge research facilities—BioNEST and Biofoundry—along with a poster session and product exhibition showcasing innovations in agri-food biotechnology and bio-manufacturing.

The BioE³ Conclave at BRIC-NABI reaffirmed India’s commitment to advancing a sustainable bio-economy, fostering innovation-driven growth, and empowering the next generation through the vision of Biotechnology for Economy, Environment, and Employment.
