MLA Narinder Pal Singh Sawna inaugurated the 200-feet high national flag tricolor on the occasion of India’s 79th Independence Day at Sadqi JCP on the Indo-Pak border.

Sawna said that today is a historic day for Fazilka. He said that this 200-foot-high tricolor flag is the pride of the country and it will fly higher than the flag of the neighbouring country.

The Fazilka MLA said that the national flag is dearer than life to the countrymen and today our national tricolor is waving in the skies, which is giving us immense happiness. Earlier, a 140-ft high flag of Pakistan was hoisted here, due to which there was a demand from all the people and the BSF that the higher tricolor flag of our country should be hoisted. The same has been fulfilled by the state government. BSF DIG Vijay Kumar, other senior officers and Border Development Council chief Liladhar Sharma were present.

Khushboo Sawansukha Sawna said that the national flag will instill a sense of patriotism in our youth and children. The event was marked with the presence of thousands of people at the retreat ceremony.
