Personnel of the 155 Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) have recovered 1.649 kg of heroin and two pistols during a search operation near Bhakhra village.

According to BSF officials, the recovery was made following specific inputs. During the operation, security forces found a large packet wrapped in yellow adhesive tape with a metal ring attached, indicating that it had likely been airdropped using a drone. The packet contained the heroin and firearms.

The police have registered a case against unidentified persons under Sections 21, 23, 61, and 85 of the NDPS Act, and Sections 25, 54, and 59 of the Arms Act, at Sadar police station (FIR No. 226).

This comes just a day after Punjab Police, in coordination with the BSF, recovered 512 grams of heroin along with packing material during a joint search operation near Kasso Ke village, located close to the border fencing along the zero line.
