DELHI POLICE BUSTED GAMBLING RACKET , SIX APPREHENDED WITH STAKE MONEY OF RS. 66 THOUSANDS

A team of Operations Cell, South West District has apprehended six gamblers namely (1) Akil Khan, R/o Vasant Kunj, Delhi, age 28 years, (2) Rajeev Singh, R/o Mehrauli, Delhi, age 44 years, (3) Subham Kumar Chaurasiya, R/o Vasant Kunj, Delhi, age 30 years, (4) Chanderpal, R/o Sangam Vihar, Delhi, age 50 years, (5) Mahender Singh, R/o Kishangarh, Delhi, age 60 years and (6) Washim R/o Kishangarh, Delhi, age 38 years. With their arrest, stake money Rs. ₹66,000/- along with a total of 104 playing cards were recovered from their possession.

To curb organized crimes like gambling in the area of South West District, the staff of Operations Cell/SWD was specifically directed to develop key inputs regarding such activities and take strict legal action against the persons indulged in organized crime. Acting upon the directions, the team initiated sincere efforts by sensitizing local informers and collecting human intelligence. 

Mr. Amit Goel, IPS, DCP, South West, said on 08.08.2025, secret information was received by the team regarding gambling activities at a dwelling house in the area of PS Kishangarh. 

Acting upon the information and team conducted a raid at Kishangarh, Delhi, where six persons were found indulged in gambling activities. On checking, stake money of ₹66,000/- and 104 playing cards were recovered from the spot.  

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 222/2025, u/s 3/4/5 Delhi Public Gambling Act was registered at PS Kishangarh. The accused persons were arrested in the case, and the recovered case properties were seized.
