Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann recently inaugurated the newly constructed an ultra-modern 30-bed CHC (Community Health Centre) building in Kauhrian village in the Sangrur District.
The building was designed by Sanjay Goel, Chief Architect of Designex Architects, Ludhiana. In a statement here on Friday, he said, “Architecture is not only about building spaces, but about creating environments that improve human life and dignity, adding that every design should reflect purpose, innovation, and responsibility towards society. He said he feels proud to have contributed to this architectural work that serves both people and progress.”
Ar Goel said, “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and the Government of Punjab for placing their trust in my services. It is an honour to contribute my architectural work towards the development vision of Punjab. This achievement is also a proud moment for Ludhiana, reflecting the city’s growing contribution to meaningful and modern infrastructure.”
The project has been completed at a cost of Rs.13.23 core. It includes four OPDs. Two major operation theatres, two labour rooms, a minor operation theatre, a lab, and an ultrasound room. Ar Goel said the CHC will benefit 85 surrounding villages and about 35,0000 to 40,000 residents, providing 24×7 emergency services, specialised care for children, and surgical facilities.
The facility in Kauhrian, which was originally a Primary Health Centre in 1962, has been upgraded to a full CHC, which was a long-overdue development, nearly 80 years after Independence.
