Thousands of farmers belonging to “Kissan Majdoor Sangharsh Committee” (KMSC) hold a massive bike rally to express their resentment against state government’s land pooling policy. Farmers belonging to Makhu, Zira, Baba Ganda Singh, Talwandi Bhai, Mallanwala, Arif ke, Basti Ram Lal, Mamdot, Guruharsahai, Jhoke Tehal Singh, started the rally from these places and after passing through the villages Mohkam Khan Wala, Satiyewala and Dastoor Wala, where the land has been earmarked for the acquisition under the policy , they finally reached in front of the district administrative complex.

While addressing the congregation in front of the DAC, District President Inderjeet Singh Bath said that AAP has backstabbed the Punjab farmers. “Earlier they used to come to us, begging for vote and now they are making policies against the farmers. AAP wants to handover the fertile land of Punjab to the corporate houses which we will not let happen”, said Bath.

State President Sukhwinder Singh Sabhra said that on August 20, the farmers will hold a massive rally at Kukkar village in Jalandhar district against the land pooling policy. Sabhra alleged the state government is dancing on the tunes of party convener Arvind Kejriwal.

Later the protesters burnt the effigy of the state government.
