FIVE MEMBER DELELGATION APPRISED GOVERNOR REGARDING PREPARATIONS IN FULL SWING FOR 303RD BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF JASSA SINGH RAMGARHIA IN NABHA,HISTORIC EVENT TO BE ORGANIZED IN NABHA ON MAY 17

A five-member delegation from Vishwakarma Welfare Society, Nabha today met the Governor of Punjab Gulab Chand Kataria to celebrate the 303rd birth anniversary of Sardar Jassa Singh Ramgarhia Ji and officially invited him to attend the 303rd birth anniversary event of great Sikh warrior Jassa Singh Ramgarhia to be held in Nabha on May 17, 2026. The Governor warmly welcomed the delegation and conveyed his best wishes to the organizers.
The delegation representing Vishwakarma Welfare Society, Nabha also submitted the official invitation letter to the Governor. Other members of the delegation included Society President Bhagwant Singh Ramgarhia, Akashpreet Singh, Bhagwant Singh, National Scheduled Caste Alliance President Paramjit Singh Kainth and Jora Singh. The delegation assured the Governor that all administrative procedures and government protocols are being followed in organizing the event.
On this occasion, Bhagwant Singh Ramgarhia said, “It is a shared responsibility for Vishwakarma Welfare Society that we respect the legacy of Jassa Singh Ramgarhia and ensure that this event is in keeping with his greatness. All necessary approvals are being taken from the concerned authorities for this historic event.”
Paramjit Singh Kainth said, “Jassa Singh Ramgarhia holds a very honourable place in the history of Punjab. It is necessary to pass on his legacy of military valour, social reform and institution building to the next generations. Such events are not just formal, but are a means of increasing historical awareness and strengthening social unity.” He said that it is the duty of every generation to connect with the ideals of such great men and draw inspiration.
The delegation also showed that Jassa Singh Ramgarhia was not only a fearless warrior on the battlefield, but was also a capable and visionary builder. He built a strong defense center by building the Ramgarh Fort in the Amritsar region with strong walls and towers. His tradition of artistic skill is also clearly visible in his approach to politics and institution building.
Spirituality also had a special place in his life. He named his fort ‘Ram Rauni’ and ‘Ramgarh’, his langar ‘Ram Roti’, his weapons ‘Ram Baan’ and ‘Ram Jang’, and his treasury ‘Ramras’, which shows his deep devotion towards Guru Ram Das Ji.
The Pratishthan Mandal also remembered his historic contribution when he liberated 17,000 women, which is an important chapter in his legacy. He was a leader who rose above religion and caste and worked for the protection and respect of the backward classes of the society.
All the members of the Pratishthan Mandal expressed confidence that this event to be held in Nabha on May 17 will attract a large number of people and will prove to be a true tribute to this great hero of Punjab.
