THE COMPANY CONTINUES STRATEGIC EXPANSION IN INDIA’S HIGH-POTENTIAL SECONDARY MARKETS

IHG® Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading hotel companies, continues to deepen its presence in Punjab as part of the broader growth strategy in India’s high-potential secondary markets. With several recent signings and openings across key cities including Chandigarh and Amritsar, IHG is well-positioned to cater to the increasing demand for quality branded accommodation and elevated hospitality experiences in the region.
IHG currently operates two hotels in Punjab – Holiday Inn Chandigarh Zirakpur and Holiday Inn Amritsar Ranjit Avenue, both of which continue to deliver strong performance. Building on this momentum, IHG has announced a series of new signings, including the upcoming opening of voco Panchkula in October 2025, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the region.
In the Chandigarh tricity area, IHG has signed Crowne Plaza Chandigarh Zirakpur and Holiday Inn & Suites Chandigarh Zirakpur, collectively adding close to 350 rooms. Expected to open in 2027 these hotels will offer a blend of great design, amenities, convenience, and superior service.
In Amritsar, the signing of voco Amritsar and Crowne Plaza Amritsar Airport will bring globally recognised premium and lifestyle offerings to one of India’s most visited cultural and religious destinations. Both properties are scheduled to open in 2028. Further strengthening its midscale presence, IHG has also expanded into Jalandhar with both Holiday Inn Jalandhar and Holiday Inn Express & Suites Jalandhar.
