According to Anil Arya, Organizing Secretary of the Haryana Sports Welfare Association (Registered), six teams will participate in the first ever ‘Shri Mata Mansa Devi Trophy’ (a combined boys and girls under-14 North Zone cricket tournament). According to Anil Arya, Organizing Secretary of the tournament, all matches will be played at the Tau Devi Lal Cricket Stadium, Panchkula, beginning tomorrow, May 19th.
The final match and prize distribution ceremony will also be held on the evening of May 28th at the TDL Cricket Stadium, Panchkula. A total of six teams from the North Zone will participate, including the IVCA. Cricket Academy, Derabassi, Champs Cricket Academy, Peermuchhalla, C.L. Champs Cricket Academy, Panchkula, C.W.N. Cricket Academy Punjab, Kurukshetra Cricket Academy, Haryana, and Sunrise Cricket Academy, Zirakpur.
According to Amarjit Kumar, General Secretary of the Haryana Sports Welfare Association (Regd.), and Anil Arya, Organizing Secretary, each team participating in this upcoming joint North Zone Cricket Tournament for junior children (boys/girls, same age group U-14) will play at least four matches.
All matches will be played in 25-over innings. The tournament will be played on a ‘super sub’ pattern, with 12 players allowed in each match. The six participating teams have been divided into two pools, and each team will play three league matches against three teams from the opposing group. The top two teams from each pool will qualify for the semi-final stage.
There will also be a match for fifth and sixth place. The tournament will be held at the Tau Devi Lal Cricket Stadium in Panchkula from May 19th to May 28th. All matches will be played with a red ball and white attire. All players will be provided with refreshment boxes, a good-quality red match ball, and a Man of the Match award (with a medal and water shaker) by the Haryana Sports Welfare Association (Regd.).
Additionally, the association will also honor the tournament’s best bowler, best batsman, best fielder, best wicketkeeper, and best all-rounder. According to Amarjeet Kumar, General Secretary of the Haryana Sports Welfare Association (Regd.), the primary objective and goal of organizing a joint cricket tournament for junior boys and girls (U-14) at the Tau Devi Lal Cricket Stadium in Panchkula and the Tri-City Chandigarh region since 2004—for the past 22 consecutive years—has been to provide these young players with an opportunity to showcase their talent. These players showcase their talent at the large cricket grounds of the Chandigarh Tri-City and the Tau Devi Lal Cricket Stadium in Panchkula, Haryana.
