An ambitious campaign of planting 50 thousand saplings was launched by the Club of Youth Spirit Fatuhi.

The massive plantation program not only spreads awareness towards the environment, but also presents a great example of community unity and participation. The campaign started with a grand rally, in which saplings were loaded in 50 tractor-trolleys and an enthusiastic procession was taken out through the village to the tune of DJ and drums. Tilak was applied on the foreheads of all the participants, which gave the event the form of a cultural and social festival.

(SUBHEAD)The rally passed through the village arousing enthusiasm towards environmental conservation. Residents of nearby areas contributed in planting saplings.

District Collector Dr Anju, Sadulshehar MLA Gurveer Singh Brar, Sriganganagar MLA Jaideep Bihani and BSF Commandant Amit Kumar appreciated the campaign and also actively participated in it. Apart from this, hundreds of teachers and students from three schools also made their significant contribution in the initiative.

The Club of Youth Spirit Fatuhi had in the past converted 40 thousand saplings into trees in the form of 9 dense forests. The next target of the club is to set a new record by planting 3.5 lakh saplings during the Gang Canal’s centenary year 2027. BSF Commandant Amit Kumar said that the club has emerged as an inspiration for other areas as well.
