CBI ARRESTS RAILWAYS DEPUTY CHIEF ENGINEER FOR TAKING RS. ONE LAKH BRIBE

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Deputy Chief Engineer-II (Construction), West Central Railway, on 04.06.2026 in a bribery case.

The CBI registered the instant case on 04.06.2026 based on a complaint alleging that the accused Deputy Chief Engineer demanded undue advantage of Rs. 1,00,000 from the complainant for release of security deposit, payment of pending bills and PVC dues totaling approx. Rs.1 Crore related to the contract work.

The CBI laid a trap and caught the accused Deputy Chief Engineer red-handed while demanding and accepting undue advantage of Rs. 1,00,000 from the complainant, in Sagar, M.P..

During the search of Guest House Room of accused an unaccounted cash of Rs. 62,000 and incriminating documents relating to investment in Real Estate were recovered from his house search. Investigation is continuing.
