The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) today arrested a drug smuggler and recovered 1.13 kg of heroin along with a high-end drone (DJI Mavic 3 Pro) used for cross-border smuggling.
AIG ANTF Sohan Lal Soni said that acting on specific inputs, a trap was laid and the accused, identified as Sandeep Singh alias Deepa, a resident of Jakhrawa village, was apprehended from his house. “The accused had direct links with Pakistani smugglers and was regularly receiving heroin consignments through drones,” said Soni, adding that further investigations are underway to trace the forward and backward linkages in this case.
The accused has been booked under Sections 21 and 23 of the NDPS Act, and Sections 10, 11, and 12 of the Aircraft Act at ANTF Police Station, SAS Nagar.
