PREVIOUS GOVTS DID NOT ACT TOUGH AGAINST ABOHAR NATIVE GANGSTERS: MUSAFIR

Balluana MLA Amandeep Singh Musafir “Goldy”, reacting to the allegations levelled against him indirectly by BJP Punjab chief Sunil Jakhar, said that the BJP leader should either prove the charges or apologize.

He has prepared a resignation letter, addressed to Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan, stating that if Jakhar proves his charges, he (Goldy) will resign as MLA but if Jakhar fails to do so, then he should be asked to apologize.

(SUBHEAD)Goldy said in a TV interview, Jakhar purportedly said that “someone” expressing sympathy with slain Sanjay Verma’s family had connection also with gangsters. The comment was seen in the backdrop of the viral photo of Goldy with Aarzoo Bishnoi, who had taken responsibility for Verma's murder for not taking his call.

The MLA explained that so many youths used to meet him. “How can I guess the visiting youth would become an officer or turn out to be a criminal in the future, ” he said.

He said that many gangsters were born and brought up in Abohar tehsil, the successive governments in Punjab did nothing to curb their nefarious activities. It's unfair to blame the AAP govt for their rise. Punjab Police had arrested seven suspects in the instant case, two had died in cross-firing. Multiple teams had been sent to suspected hide-outs to nab other accused and all the culprits would be behind the bar, he hoped.
