Gopichand Arya Mahila College, Abohar, has emerged as one of the top-performing institutions at the Sustainability Excellence Awards 2025, organised by the National EduTrust of India Registered under Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

Out of over 430 higher education institutions from Punjab, only 13 were shortlisted and officially invited for the felicitation ceremony at Chitkara University campus.

(SUBHEAD)Dr. Rekha Sood Handa, Principal GAMC, was felicitated with multiple prestigious honours including the District Green Championship Award (Fazilka), the Water Guardians Award, and the Zero-Waste Campus Award. She was also conferred the Award for Best Principal, acknowledging her visionary leadership in transforming a rural college into a model institution of sustainability and academic excellence.

Amandeep Kaur, faculty member and nodal officer of the college, received special appreciation for her exceptional coordination in sustainability campaigns. She was recognised among the top six nodal officers in Punjab, a significant achievement considering the scale of competition and participation.
