Speaking at the inaugural session of “Spirituality in Politics for a Peaceful Society” program organized by the Political Wing of the Brahma Kumaris at Gyan Sarovar Academy, Mount Abu—Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said that the aim of politics is not just to acquire power but to serve the nation and society. He remarked that trust, self-confidence, efficiency, character, and effective communication are the fundamental assets for the success of a public representative. Spirituality fosters these qualities and dedicates leadership to the public interest. He emphasized that work undertaken with the spirit of “Nation First and People First” constitutes true politics.
Danasari Anasuya “Seethakka”, Telangana Minister, shared that she had abandoned the path of violence to pursue the path of education and spirituality. She stated, “Not guns, but education and spirituality can bring about lasting change in society and the nation.” BK Asha, Director of the ORC, New Delhi, identified trust, self-confidence, efficiency, character, and communication skills as the five pillars of success for contemporary leadership.
BK Karuna Bhai, Secretary General of the Brahma Kumaris, called upon public representatives to make spiritual values the foundation of their public lives. BK Lakshmi, Chairperson of the Political Wing, Former Bihar Minister Vikram Kunwar, Former Maharashtra Minister Laxman Rao and BK Usha were among other speakers.
