DISTRICT COLLECTOR AND SP LAUNCH CHILD BEGGING PREVENTION CAMPAIGN

District Collector Dr. Amit Yadav, ADC Subhash Kumar, Superintendent of Police Hari Shankar, Additional SP Deepak Sharma, Chief Executive Officer District Council Girdhar were the firsts to sign the “Sriganganagar should be free from child beggary” campaign at the launching ceremony in the collector complex, Sriganganagar.

Rajeev Jakhar, Assistant Director, Child Empowerment Department, said that the campaign has been launched with the aim of freeing children below 18 years of age from begging. For the campaign, a task force of officials of the concerned departments and NGOs/voluntary organizations shall be formed to identify the main places of beggary and coordinate with the district police for legal action against the persons who engage children in the illegal activity. Under the prevention of child beggary and public awareness program, a children’s fair will be organized in the coming days and a program of taking oath by parents for the safe future of children will be held.

At the beginning of the signature campaign, Assistant Director of Child Empowerment Department Rajeev Jakhar, Child Welfare Committee Chairman Joginder Kaushik, members Anand Marwal, Vandana Gaur, Dr. Ram Prakash Sharma, Child Helpline Coordinator Trilok Verma, Supervisor Deepak, Ashok and others were also present.
