To assess the real-time condition of law and order and night-time security in the city, DCP Srishti Gupta conducted a surprise late-night inspection of key club areas, liquor vends, and night checkpoints on Saturday. The inspection was carried out between 12:00 AM and 2:30 AM, during which the DCP first Visited club areas located in Sector-5 and Sector-9 to see the effectiveness of the security arrangements to ensure that these night clubs remain a safespace for partying rather than emerging as a new place for hooliganism.
During the inspection, the DCP checked the activities being carried out in the clubs, sound level compliance, adherence to the time limit, and staff presence. She ensured that all employees were present at their assigned duty points and equipped with necessary tools. She also warned club managers that any violations of time limits, noise rules, or law and order disruptions would lead to strict action.
The DCP also inspected liquor shops operating during nighttime. Special attention was given to those shops where complaints were received about selling alcohol secretly after permitted hours through small side windows. She directed concerned officials to keep strict surveillance on such outlets and made it clear that any violation would not be tolerated.
As part of night patrolling, the DCP also visited special checkpoints set up against drink and drive across the city. She interacted with the officers on duty to understand how many challans had been issued, which areas were under intense checking, and what challenges were being faced. She instructed the teams to stay highly alert and enforce a zero-tolerance policy in such cases. It was found that in just one day, 45 challans were issued, and one vehicle was impounded.
In addition, the DCP inspected the main night security checkpoints established for city safety. She ensured that police personnel were actively present at all locations and instructed that there should be no laxity during night patrolling.
