CBI ARRESTS DELHI PWD ASSISTANT ENGINEER AND TWO OTHERS IN BRIBERY CASE

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an Assistant Engineer (AE), Public Works Department (PWD), New Delhi, and two private persons- a representative of M/s Kaura Construction Company, Rohini, New Delhi, and an employee of the same firm, in a bribery case.

The CBI registered the instant case on 27.07.2026 against the said accused. It was alleged that the accused, Assistant Engineer, PWD, had been abusing his official position by extending undue official favours to a government contractor representing M/s Kaura Construction Company, Rohini, New Delhi, in connection with the execution of various construction works entrusted by the Public Works Department, New Delhi. In consideration of such official favours, the accused Assistant Engineer had been regularly obtaining illegal gratifications and other undue advantages from the representative of the private firm who paid illegal gratification to the accused AE as commission/bribe through various means, including through his employee. In pursuance of aforesaid criminal conspiracy, on 27.07.2026, the accused representative of private firm instructed his employee to deliver a sum of Rs. 21,00,000 (Rupees Twenty-One Lakh) to the accused Assistant Engineer at his residence at Pitampura, New Delhi.

The CBI raided the house of the accused AE and recovered Rs. 21.00 Lakh cash delivered by the accused employee on 27.07.2026. In addition to that, various incriminating documents including Rs. 15.50 Lakh cash have been seized from the residence of the accused AE. During searches at the residential premises of representative of M/s Kaura Construction Company, incriminating documents including Rs. 46.75 Lakh cash have been recovered. Investigation is continuing.
