CBI COURT AWARDS 7 YEARS RI TO FORMER OFFICIAL OF ORIENTAL BANK OF COMMERCE IN BANK FRAUD CASE OF OVER RS. 12 LAKH

The CBI Court, Jaipur, on 06.08.2026, has convicted and sentenced the accused Murari Lal Meena, then Special Assistant, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Sheosinghpura, Lalsot, Dausa to Rigorous Imprisonment for Seven Years with a fine of Rs. 1,25,000, in a bank fraud case.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered the instant case on 01.02.2019 based on the complaint lodged by Oriental Bank of Commerce alleging that the accused Murari Lal Meena, Special Assistant, OBC abused his official position by dishonestly issuing unauthorized No Dues Certificates, thereby facilitating the release of mortgaged securities despite outstanding loan liabilities and causing a wrongful loss of ₹12,14,660.71 to the bank, across three loan accounts.

After completion of investigation, the CBI filed chargesheet on 30.09.2019 against the accused.​ Charges against the accused were framed on 12.10.2022. The Hon’ble Court, after the trial, convicted and sentenced the accused accordingly.
