A couple from Malukpura village of Abohar, reportedly upset with a woman from Bathinda, allegedly “attempted” suicide by drinking grass-burning pesticide in their house last evening. Both have been admitted to the Civil Hospital for treatment. The victim couple has demanded strict action from the police administration against the said woman.
The victim woman, who is undergoing treatment in the hospital, told that her husband has been working in a Dera where a woman from Bathinda and her family used to come frequently. Due to this her husband had become quite acquainted with the said woman, but now the said woman is defaming her husband and his photos by posting them on social media and also blackmailing him due to which, he reportedly took pesticide.
Her husband said that he has been in a relationship with the said woman from Bathinda for some time but when he came to know about the ground reality of the said woman, he distanced himself from her. Now the woman who is defaming him and blackmailing him by wrongly posting videos of him and his wife on social media. She had also given a complaint against him in the women’s cell but she could not present any evidence. He said that he has also filed a complaint against the said woman in the SSP office, Bathinda. Even then, she was not desisting from taking to the social media thus abetting him to take this step. He has demanded action from the police against the said woman
