TWO INVOLVED IN LUDHIANA PROPERTY DEALER MURDER CASE HELD WITH GLOCK PISTOL 

PUNJAB POLICE COMMITTED TO DISMANTLE ORGANISED CRIME AND GANGSTER NETWORKS FROM STATE, REITERATES DGP GAURAV YADAV, REMAINING ACCUSED PERSONS INVOLVED IN THE CRIME IDENTIFIED; POLICE TEAMS ON MANHUNT TO NAB THEM

In a major breakthrough amidst the ongoing drive to make Punjab a safe and secure state as per directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab, in a joint operation with Commissionerate Ludhiana Police, has apprehended two accused wanted in the Ludhiana Property Dealer murder case and recovered one 9MM Glock pistol along with one live cartridge from their possession, said Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav here on Tuesday.

Those arrested have been identified as Manjit Singh alias Bobby and Mohit Kumar, both residents of Chanderlok Colony in Ludhiana.

As per the information, several persons, who were armed with pistols, and sharp weapons, attacked victim Harjinder Singh alias Harry Jhanda in Swatantra Nagar in Ludhiana at about 11:30 PM on August 7, 2026, resulting in his death.

DGP Gaurav Yadav said that preliminary investigation has revealed that arrested accused Manjit Singh alias Bobby has a criminal history and has been involved in multiple criminal cases, including cases pertaining to attempt to murder and offences under the NDPS Act and operating a local gang in Ludhiana City area. Further investigation is underway, he said.

The DGP reiterated the commitment of Punjab Police to dismantling organised crime and gangster networks to ensure peace, safety and security across the state.

Sharing operational details, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) AGTF Promod Ban said that police teams from AGTF has received a credible human intelligence regarding the whereabouts of two accused wanted in the Harjinder Singh murder case, which was immediately shared with the Technical Cell and movements of both the accused persons were traced successfully. Acting upon the technical inputs, AGTF teams led by Inspector Vikramjeet Singh launched a coordinated operation with Commissionerate Ludhiana Police and arrested both the accused persons from Tibba area, he said.

Sharing more details, Commissioner of Police (CP) Ludhiana Swapan Sharma said that other accused persons involved in the crime have been identified and police teams are on manhunt to nab them.

In this regard, a case FIR No. 182 dated 08.08.2026 under sections 103, 324(4), 307, 191(3) and 190 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act has already been registered at Police Station Tibba in Commissionerate Ludhiana.
