CBI COURT AWARDS 4 YEARS IMPRISONMENT WITH A FINE OF Rs. 3.5 LAKH EACH TO THREE ACCUSED IN A BANK FRAUD CASE

The CBI Court, Delhi, vide its judgment and order passed today, i.e., 18th August 2026, has sentenced three accused persons namely, Amit Chaturvedi, Sanjay Chaturvedi and Pravin Juneja to Four Years Imprisonment with a Fine of Rs. 3.5 Lakhs each, in a bank fraud case.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered the instant case on 08.04.2009 on the conversion of Preliminary Enquiry wherein it was alleged that the accused persons in conspiracy with each other availed Rupee Term Loan of Rs 07 Crore from the UCO Bank by submitting false information and forged documents showing utilization of loan proceeds and siphoned off the funds so received from the UCO Bank for purposes other than the purpose for which the loan was sanctioned and thereby cheated the UCO Bank.

After completion of investigation, CBI filed Chargesheet against the accused persons on 01.06.2010. The Hon’ble Court, after the trial, convicted and sentenced the accused, accordingly.

The conviction assumes added significance as this is the third conviction of Amit Chaturvedi, Sanjay Chaturvedi and Pravin Juneja in bank fraud cases investigated and prosecuted by the CBI.
