INDIAN ARMY HOSTS INTERNATIONAL DEFENCE JOURNALISTS AT JODHPUR

Konark Corps of Southern Command hosted a delegation of International Defence Journalists from 25 countries at Jodhpur today, providing them a comprehensive overview of the Indian Army's transformative journey and strategic evolution. The visit showcased the Army's pivotal role in the Decade of Transformation, with a special focus on Atmanirbharta in defence manufacturing.

Journalists were elaborated upon indigenous weapon systems, cutting-edge platforms and next-generation equipment that have significantly enhanced operational capabilities across the challenging desert sector. Detailed briefings highlighted the seamless induction of home-grown technologies that position India as a formidable defence manufacturing hub.

(SUBHEAD)The programme also spotlighted the Indian Army's pivotal contributions to Nation Building through Military Civil Fusion initiatives. These include sustained outreach programmes to local communities, skill development drives, and strategic border area development projects that have transformed remote western frontier regions of Rajasthan. Such efforts have strengthened security infrastructure, improved connectivity through strategic roads and bridges, boosted local economies, and fostered socio-economic progress while maintaining operational readiness.

These multifaceted initiatives reflect concrete steps towards realising the vision of a secure, self-reliant and prosperous Viksit Bharat, demonstrating India's integrated approach to defence preparedness and national development. The international media delegation appreciated the Indian Army's professionalism, operational excellence and commitment to global defence cooperation.
