A PCR call was received at PS South Campus at about 1:34 PM regarding a building collapse at Satya Niketan Market.
Teams of Delhi Police, NDRF, Delhi Fire Service and DDMA, along with fire tenders and CATS ambulances, reached the spot and commenced rescue operations. Jt. CP/New Delhi Range, DCP/South-West District and Addl. DCP are supervising the operation.
From the local enquiry it came to knowledge that this was 40–50-year-old building, comprising of a basement and five upper floors, and it was used as a PG accommodation . Repair work was underway in the basement when the incident occurred.
So far, six persons have been rescued and shifted to hospitals. Search and rescue operations are continuing.
