SEVEN EMBRACE SIKHI IN 'HOMECOMING' CEREMONY IN BHILAI GURDWARA

In a significant event organized by the Sikh Youth Service Committee Bhilai, under the leadership of its President Inderjit Singh Chhotu and Jasveer Singh Chahal, President of the Chhattisgarh Sikh Panchayat, seven individuals returned to religion by re-embracing Sikhi. The ceremony took place at Gurudwara Baba Deep Singh Shaheed in Supela, Bhilai in the presence of all Gurudwara Management Committees of the city.

These individuals had converted their religion sometime in the past due to certain family circumstances or allurement. However, impressed by the principles of Sikhi and the service to humanity, they decided to return to their original religion.

(SUBHEAD)On this occasion, Gurnam Singh, General Secretary of the Sikh Panchayat and Malkeet Singh, Treasurer of the Sikh Youth Service Committee, informed that after the recitation of Sri Anand Sahib and performing Ardas, the Granthi Singh of the Gurudwara, Surinder Singh Dardi, read out the Hukamnama and honored all seven individuals with 'Siropas' (traditional Sikh robes of honor), and performed their homecoming ceremony.

For this special endeavor under the 'Manav Seva, Madhav Seva' (Service to Man is Service to God) mission, dignitaries of Bhilai praised the efforts of Inderjit Singh Chhotu for his efforts, who is the President of both the Sikh Youth Service Committee and the Sarv Samaj Kalyan Seva Committee. Speaking on the occasion, Inderjit Singh Chhotu said that all possible efforts would be made to ensure the homecoming of all Sikhs who have converted in the past. He assured that keeping their needs and circumstances in mind, every possible help would be extended to them with the support of the Sikh community. Office bearers of all Gurudwara Management Committees in Bhilai have congratulated Inderjit Singh Chhotu for this commendable initiative.

Prominent among those present at the homecoming ceremony included Palwinder Singh Randhawa, Gurmeet Singh Gandhi, Baljinder Singh Kaler, Bibi Kulwant Kaur, Tajinder Singh, Harpal Singh, Jaswant Singh Khalsa, Sucha Singh, Pavitar Singh, Trilochan Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Sukhdev Singh Ladi, Jagjeet Singh Saggu, Aman Singh, Nirmal Singh Randhawa, Digvijay Singh, Mahinder Singh and a large number of local men-women.
