The Department of Telecommunications (DoT), in coordination with Haryana Police and telecom operator M/s Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL), successfully raided an illegal telecom setup operational in Karnal, Haryana on Wednesday
(MOREPIC1) The raid led to recovery of an unauthorised radio equipment, 56 SIM cards and a laptop used to manage calls. The SIM cards were obtained without the knowledge of the person whose identity was misused. These SIMs were being used in generating robo-calls to target innocent people.
An FIR has been filed, and further investigations are underway to ascertain involvement of the accused in committing cyber fraud to defraud people.
